What it's like

Is there any alcohol in Sens?

None. Sens is absolutely zero-proof. It's non-alcoholic from beginning to end, not dealcoholized, so there's never even a trace of alcohol.

Is there THC or CBD?

Neither. The felt effect comes from herbs, mainly passionflower, which is why Sens is legal to ship, safe to drive after, and easy to serve anywhere.

What does it taste like?

Dry and spritzy, nuanced and balanced. (It's made by a winemaker, after all.) More flavor and character than a seltzer, drier and more interesting than a soda. A touch of sweetness, aromatic on the finish. Just right, if you ask us.

How much sugar is in a can?

Between 7 and 12 grams depending on the blend, and 30 to 60 calories. That's up to 70% less sugar than most non-alcoholic drinks on the market.

What does passionflower actually do?

Passionflower is a nervine, a family of herbs long used to settle a busy nervous system. More on the botanicals we use. In practice most people describe a shoulder drop: not a buzz, not a high, just a little more ease.

How long does it take to feel it?

Usually about twenty minutes, and it is subtle by design. It is closer to the feeling of sitting down after a long day than to the effect of a drink.

Do the four blends feel different?

Sens Botanicals spritzes contain a dose of passionflower consistent across all four blends, for a subtle but felt sense of ease and presence. (The “shoulder drop moment,” as we call it.) This means you can choose based on flavor, and the plants will take care of the rest.

In addition to passionflower, each blend contains a specific blend of supporting nervine herbs that contribute to that feeling of ease. Those herbs provide an important backdrop, but we think of passionflower as doing most of the heavy lifting.

If I drink several, will I get tipsy or intoxicated?

No, for better or worse, Sens spritzes don't stack the way alcohol does. So another can means more enjoyment and a continued sense of ease, not intoxication. Drink as many as you like.

Is it safe with medication, or during pregnancy?

Because Sens Botanicals spritzes contain passionflower, they are not recommended during pregnancy or while nursing.

Some herbs can be contraindicated with certain prescriptions, so if you're taking medication, we recommend checking with your doctor first.

Is it vegan and gluten free?

Every ingredient we use is plant-based, and none of them contain gluten. That said, Sens is brewed on non-dedicated equipment that may also produce beer and other grain-based beverages, so we can't call it certified gluten free or certified vegan.
